The vision for Cocoguru is broad—to spread the benefits of coconuts to as many people as possible. Adigemane is a natural extension of that vision.
We take pride in our roots—they're worth preserving for generations. They align with our region and culture. At Cocoguru Adigemane, we respect our traditions and aim to develop them further. In most regions, people proudly celebrate their local cuisine. But here, it's become trendy to favor North Indian, Chinese, or Western foods. We're not saying those are bad—they’re great for their own regions and fine to enjoy occasionally. We just believe our traditional local foods deserve the same celebration and pride.
Our promoters come from the Havyaka Brahmin community in Puttur, where the Cocoguru brand was born. We focus on this specific geographic area—coastal Karnataka, the Konkan coast, Mangaluru, Udupi, Karavali, South Canara, Dakshina Kannada, Tulu Nadu, or what is historically known as Parashurama Kshetra.
Although non-vegetarian food is widely celebrated in this region, we believe vegetarian food can be just as flavorful and nutritious. We promote what we personally consume and believe in—purely vegetarian meals.
Our business is about ready-to-eat food that tastes great and provides proper nutrition. We make it fresh and hygienically, using the best ingredients. Unlike many commercial kitchens that focus solely on taste and cut corners with hygiene and quality, we do things differently. Most mass-produced food is unhealthy—made in dirty environments, stored for long periods, and created using the cheapest ingredients. We’ve seen growing consumer dissatisfaction with this, and we’re here to change it. We enjoy the original taste of vegetables and ingredients, preferring to keep our food mild—not overloaded with salt, spices, or oil.
Coconut oil has been—and should continue to be—the primary cooking oil in this region, the land of coconuts. It’s a magical ingredient that enhances the flavor of Mangalorean dishes and is incredibly healthy. Unfortunately, most restaurants today avoid it in favor of cheaper refined oils, partly because sourcing pure, high-quality coconut oil is difficult. While it may not appeal to outsiders and isn’t ideal for long shelf life, we proudly use it for its authenticity, taste, and health benefits.
